Virtual Tour - Queens Hotel

You've made it to the Queens Hotel, known these days as the Holiday Inn at the southern end of Farnborough Road. The original hotel was largely destroyed in a fire in 1903 to be replaced by the structure we recognise today. Images 1-3 show the former view of the hotel from Duke of Connaught's road which used to run all the way from Queens Avenue up to the Queens Hotel.

Where to now? Nearby is the former Institute of Aviation Medicine, Cockadobby Hill war memorial, the former through-route of Duke of Connaught's Road, and the former sites of Common Lane, Blenheim Barracks, Malplaquet Barracks, Oudenarde Barracks, Tournay Barracks and Lille Barracks, with Lynchford Road, Alexandra Road, the Wesleyan Church, the former site of the Wesleyan Soldier's home, the RFC Barracks, and Farnborough Road running in close proximity. For the full list of locations nearby, pick where you want to go next from the menu on the right.
