Virtual Tour - Whitehall Farm

You've made it to the former site of Whitehall Farm on Southwood Lane close to the entrance to the former Southwood camp, and where Oakey's Dairy was once based. Today this area has been completely redeveloped with the Broadmead area of the Southwood estate. Images 7-11 shows a marshy area which runs adjacent to Southwood Lane just beyond the turning into Broadmead, this used to be the former pond for Whitehall Farm but is very overgrown today and can be compared with Image 4 which shows the treeline to the right of the pond in 1976.

Where to now? Close by are the former sites of Southwood Camp, Eelmoor Farm, the National Gas Turbine Establishment (NGTE), Cove Radio Station, Bramshot Halt, and Southwood House, along with Tarn Close, Fleet Road and West Heath Corner and the former site of the RAE. Further to the East is Cove Junior School and the former site of Cove Court. For the full list of locations nearby, pick where you want to go next from the menu on the right.
